Oswald 24 - Biography
After his youth was corrupted by the influences of a rock n roll lifestyle whilst acting as a roadie across England, and having retired from an illustrious career as a professional disco dancer in Leeds, Wayne and his guitar staggered back into his home town of Leamington Spa. In the musical melting pot that is the Rob's Well he drunkenly stumbled into Becky, and after a protracted conversation which neither entirely recall, Oswald 24 was born. Becky, having recently returned from a stint living in Venice, a classically trained cellist and historical dabbler, saw this as an apt excuse to avoid studying for her finals, so in the underbelly of Warwick university the two of them filled Wayne's Drake-esque songs with lots of miserable cello sounds and serious musical faces. With a hit and run speedy recording of their demo CD 'Live at the Well', and a series of acclaimed gigs across the midlands, mysterious circumstances led to a sudden need for Becky to leave the country. Whilst she camped out in Namibia, drank too much mysterious liquor in South East Asia and had a series of other shady adventures that are best not discussed here, Wayne plunged into the depths of rock n roll excesss and debauchery. Six months later the band was reunited, and whilst plotting world domination, drinking too much in Leicester and eating lots of cheese, also found time to write some new songs. Now commuting between London (where Becky spends her time contemplating, among other things, the operas of Philip Glass and the virtues of using kazoos in the modern orchestra) and Leamington (where Wayne schmoozes and prowls his way through the local pubs and clubs), Oswald 24 may manage world domination sometime yet...
